1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ScanSim ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of ScanSim
ScanSim is a Document Print & Scan Simulator — an automated document-processing tool that simulates common visual characteristics associated with printing and scanning. Use cases include document preview, print and scan workflow testing, OCR testing, archival simulation, document design quality assurance, software testing, and legitimate internal document-processing workflows.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for all content you upload and for your use of the Service. You agree to comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Uploaded Content
You retain any rights you hold in content you upload. By submitting a document to ScanSim, you grant ScanSim a limited, temporary permission to process that document solely to provide the requested simulation service. We do not claim ownership of uploaded files.
You represent that you have the right to upload and process any document you submit, and that your use does not violate any law or third-party rights.
6. Limited Permission to Process Content
The permission you grant is limited to what is technically necessary to perform the document-to-simulation conversion you request. This permission ends when the temporary processing and retention period expires.
7. Acceptable Use
Your use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. You may not use ScanSim for any fraudulent, unlawful, or infringing purpose.
8. Intellectual Property
The ScanSim brand, website, and underlying software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond use of the Service as described.
9. Service Availability
ScanSim is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may suspend or modify the Service at any time without prior notice.
10. Temporary File Retention
Original uploaded files are deleted after processing. Generated output may remain temporarily available for download for up to 24 hours. Files may be deleted earlier because of service restart, redeployment, maintenance, or infrastructure events. You are responsible for downloading results promptly. ScanSim is not a permanent document-storage service.
11. Paid Services
ScanSim offers a one-time digital credit pack: US$0.99 for 30 successful PDF generations. One completed output PDF uses one credit regardless of page count. Credits do not expire. The price, taxes, and payment terms are shown by Paddle before checkout.
Paid credits are associated with the email used at checkout. You must keep access to that email to sign in and view or use your remaining credits.

13. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SCANSIM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
15. Restriction or Suspension of Access
We may restrict or discontinue access to the Service where we become aware of misuse, without prior notice.
16. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
18. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
